Shoe Pyramid, Reviews and Experience from that bad-feet-day

sho

Over the past 5 years I believe I have used (used out!) 20+ dress shoes, except a few. Common to those who break are they are cheap, they comes with plastic/rubber sole, seems are breaking because of bad quality and the leather is loosing color, flicking or breaking. Especially in Norwegian winter conditions leather shoes suffer unless you use galoshes.

Throw them all away, save your feet, back, and money investing in proper shoes. I just started a couple a years ago, have two pairs of Italian shoes and is about to test out a Spanish brand, Magnanni.

If you like fine leather shoes or loafers, Italian, French, British etc. you should check out the shoe pyramid from Ask Andy About Clothes. Personally I fancy Santoni as these classic monkstraps.

For Norwegians, check out this test and the great guides from some of Oslos best shoemakers (Dagestad, Gundersen).

Playing with Android Smart Lock

Smart Lock on my Nexus 6P caught my attention the other day. I restored my device to not put any personal data at risk and tested some of its features. My 6P has a rather nice fingerprint reader, but if I can avoid authenticating in “safe” environments it would be awesome. You have the following five options; on-body detection, trusted places, devices, face and voices. I personally trust “devices” the most as I have more control of what device I choose. Screenshot_2016-07-29-17-58-57

Mobile Trojans with SMS C&C

Looked into the Android SpySMS torjan as they say it has infected 40k users phones. This Mobile Trojan is using SMS as C&C protocol the way IRC C&C were used by PC Trojans back in the days. Got me thinking that the reliable SMS protocol is a nice protocol to control the android bots. The way this app try to block anti-virus from running and the long list of banking apps it controls is rather interesting as this has historically been more adapted by PC trojans and malware.
